We invite all interested parties to submit abstracts to the 5th BRAINN Congress. Papers will be presented in poster form (undergrad and initial post-graduate projects) or in an oral session (advanced post-graduate projects).
Please note that poster presenters will be also required to present a quick oral preview of their abstract.
​
Accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology.
To submit your abstract, please go to the Conference Management Toolkit (CMT) homepage and setup an account:

Click on “+ Create new submission”, then follow the guidelines to submit your abstract.

Abstract submission opens: November 15th 2017.
Deadline for abstract submission: February 23rd 2018.
Notification of acceptance: March 12th 2018.
Deadline for abstract final version uploading*: March 16th 2018.

(*) Please note that, since the accepted abstracts will be published, you will be required to perform corrections suggested by reviewers, and upload a final version of your paper. Even if there were no changes to make to the original abstract, authors must upload the final version of their paper (in this case, the same version previously submitted). This is to simplify abstracts’ management by the editors’ team.

Format rules for abstracts (all must be in English):

Title must be in 14pt bold Times New Roman font
-
Authors’ names must be in 12pt Times New Roman font
-
Affiliations must be in 10pt Times New Roman font
-
Section titles must be in 12pt bold Times New Roman font
-
Section text and references must be in 12pt Times New Roman font
-
Margins must be 2 cm (all sides), and simple line spacing must be used
-
The BRAINN logo must be at the upper left corner and the congress name, date and place at the upper right corner (see template).

References must be cited in the text by numbers enclosed in square brackets (e.g., [1])
-
References’ format must be:
-
if the reference has a DOI, just cite the DOI, as in: [1] doi:10.1016/j.neuroimage.2009.10.003
-
otherwise, cite only the first author, followed by "et al." (if there are more authors), followed by the abbreviated journal name (do not write the title of the paper), followed directly by the number indicating the volume, issue, pages, and the year, as in: [1] Surname AB et al., Journal 33(5): 1014-1018, 2010

Abstracts may contain figures and tables.

They must fit in a single A4 sheet.
-
Abstracts not following the required format will not be accepted.

Posters (must be in English):
- They must be 90 cm width by 120 cm height.
Slides (must be in English):
- The title text font must be in Arial (32pt) or Times New Roman (40pt);
- The content text font must be in Arial (24pt) or Times New Roman (30pt);
- For slides with light backgrounds, dark letters are recommended;
- For video slides, we recommend to use the full screen.

Obs.: Please note that submitting an abstract does not exempt you from registering to the conference. In order to attend the conference and present your work, you must register!
​
Obs. 2: Oral presentation should last 60 seconds and should be performed in English. The poster and slides should also be in English.
​
For selected works - Video with "Pitch" of your work (optional):
Send a video with a brief description of your work to post on the event website. This video should have a maximum of 2 minutes, presenting only the main points of your project and arousing the interest of the listener. Selected videos will also be posted on the BRAINN website (www.brainn.org.br).
